We are seeking applicants for Chief Financial Officer. This person will manage the financial and control activities of the cooperative, develop financial strategies, execute financial reporting, supervise financial staff, and participate in executive staff meetings.

What You'll Do

You will manage general accounting, financial planning, banking, insurance and taxes. You will develop budgets, financial forecasts, loan applications and monitor the overall financial condition of the cooperative. You will be responsible for:

• Leading and coordinating activities of other employees that perform accounting and bookkeeping tasks
• Managing working capital resources including cash investments and short term lines of credit
• Conducting economic studies and assisting with rate designs
• Acting as a liaison with the external auditor and managing the auditing process
• Directing or preparing and maintaining records, including ledgers, journals, and registers in conformance with generally accepted accounting practices and procedures
• Analyzing financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital. Preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarize current and projected financial position
• Applying accounting principles to analyze financial information and preparing financial reports. Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to accounts, documenting business transactions
• Directing or preparing monthly and yearly financial Board reports
• Attending regular meetings of the Board of Directors to provide information and advice and to gain a greater understanding of company policies
• Directing and/or processing the cooperative payroll and the filing of tax statements with appropriate agencies and maintaining appropriate documentation
• Supporting operations by processing and maintaining records for inventory, work orders, materials, CRPs, special equipment, retirements, and field construction
• Auditing vendor contracts, orders, and vouchers. Preparing reports to substantiate individual transactions
• Responsible for the delegation, training, and appraisal process of department employees
• Actively participating in succession planning for the coop

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finances
• 3-5 years experience
